Sinking Qi and Rooting
Over the weekend of February 18-20, Steve Galloway will continue LNG’s Level 1 syllabus with the mechanics of “sinking” qi. Many of our Ontario events have covered a general introduction to the systems LNG uses in its Nei Gong syllabus. Taking a detailed look at how we mobilize and structure movement through the kua movement of qi can be considered in terms of energetic flow, but also in terms of redirection of mass.
When rooting, a principle obstacle to progress in arts like Nei Gong and Taijiquan is passing either energetic flow or mass through the kua to the ground. By improving alignments through this part of the body, practitioners can leverage Sung to improve connection to Earth and distribute qi more efficiently.
Steve will teach various basic movements and exercises will also be taught to help students understand how to efficiently control both their mass and energetic center during Qi Gong exercises. The content is suitable for newcomers while refining elements of training which existing students should build into their ongoing training.
